For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago...(Ephesians 2:10)

Enter Scene: A lady's Ultimate Helper...

Look what I came across the other day that would have been great for our talk on the word of God. A man said: ‘Never compare this book with other books. Comparisons are dangerous. Never think or never say that this book contains the Word of God. IT IS THE WORD OF GOD. It is supernatural in origin, eternal in duration, inexpressible in value, infinite in scope, regenerative in power, infallible in authority, universal in interest, personal in application, inspired in totality. Read it through, Write it down. Pray it in. Work it out. And then pass it on.’ WOW!!

Is it not wonderful that God has made us princesses? His very own handiwork, recreated in Christ Jesus, that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]( Ephesians 2:10, amp).

As a lady, always be aware that you were made special, for something special. God has a plan beyond anything you have ever known. It’s BIG!! So many attempts to destroy it have been made, but no!! This is too big for anything or anyone to destroy. It is so huge but also inclusive because within it, He has made a part for you. He knows what He made you for better than you do. In fact many don’t even know why they are on this earth yet, but He does. He prepared it all ahead of time: the script is written, stage set. Question is, are you ready?

This plan though inclusive, however is not centered on you. its not just about you: you doing well, having a good life, the best family, that job, all the money you want, etc. It is bigger than you. Of Jesus, it is written in Acts 10:38, that He got anointed with the Holy Spirit and He ‘went about doing good, in particular curing all those who were oppressed and harassed by the devil.’ Jesus came for us. That was His part on earth within the big plan of God, the Father. Jesus, not only redeemed us, He restored us, reconciled us back to God. It was not just about Him. The same is recorded of the apostles: they went about spreading good news to people,  healing the sick etc..and now its you, its me,  we also have been born anew to do good works. What they are will however, vary according to the Father's will for your life.

But without a doubt His plan for you is big and unique. Whatever plans you make for yourself, they are nothing compared to His. The famous Jeremiah 29:11, says, “ For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome plans for you.”  This is a guarantee.  He knows your future, He doesn’t think it, He doesn’t ‘maybe’  it or  just says, 'I don’t wanna think about it'. He KNOWS. Gloria Copeland, a woman I admire and love has said that the plans she had as a young woman now seem almost silly when she sees what she has accomplished following God’s plan for her.  You have to remember, His thoughts are way higher than yours. They are not limited by ANYTHING. He owns everything. The whole earth is only His footstool ( Acts 7:49).

So, if you have discovered what His plan for your life is, do not think that you are too young or too old to pull it off. That it is too expensive and you have no idea where any money will come from. Do not think that it is too lame to be a career. Do not let doubts settle in. Dont let yourself be swayed from it. I know others have no idea what His plan is. Ask Him to tell you because while your plans may be good even very convincing, His are better. Talk to Him about it more than you do to anyone else. Don’t let ideas just cloud up in your head or heart and allow the devil  to convince you, you can not do it for whatever reasons he has. YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST.  AND YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! GOD DID NOT INTEND THAT YOU GO THROUGH LIFE, FULFILLING HIS PLAN ALONE. It might be big, yes, but God is bigger. It might be expensive but God is RICH!! You might not know it but WOW!! God can tell you. He has given you all that is necessary to accomplish His plan for you. In fact He has given you the ultimate helper: THE HOLYSPIRIT.

WOW!!WOW!!! This blows my mind..am so excited…. The Holyspirit is just fresh!! Smith Wigglesworth has called Him the executive of Jesus and the Father. That is, if you want to know what is on God’s mind concerning your life, you will need Him in you because He ‘searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man's scrutiny]’ (1 Corinthians 2:10). In simpler terms, He searches the mind of God.

And even to fully benefit from the Bible, it is a must to have Him. Because yeah, while the word is the key to unraveling your identity, He is the one who  brings it to life, reveals all the gems hidden in it. Without Him, it is like having a key to something life-changing but not knowing how to use it. With all your intelligence, you can not fully understand the Bible, the richness of it. You can not really grasp the treasure in it. But He, He will reveal to you things in it that no one else would, concerning your life. You NEED Him. If Jesus needed Him, believe me, you do too.  He knows a lot of stuff you don’t…and you can not fulfill God’s plan for your life without Him because the mastermind behind the plan, thinks in a way that is too high for us,and  it is the Holyspirit who interprets this and reveals it to us.

As a Christian I am eternally grateful for the Holyspirit. Knowing Him has changed my life and continues to do so. Jesus defined Him as another helper in John 14. A comforter, Counselor, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby in the Amplified. These words all describe someone who comes alongside to help. The Holyspirit does not come to do it all and let you sit down and watch. If this were so, all spirit-filled Christians would be effecting change in this world passionately because I really doubt He would want to just sit and watch people suffer. But He came to help you, to enable you to accomplish your part of God’s plan. If He is in you,  He comes along with all that He is, which is God, to make you bold where you were scared, to make you a success where you were a failure. He enables you to become all God created you be thus turning uncertainties into certainties.

Also Jesus promised that the Holyspirit would never leave us.That He would be with us and in us. Do you know what this means?!!! As a believer, one can never be alone. It can not happen. He is in you. FOREVER!! So do not let the devil or sometimes just yourself depress you with loneliness. Just remind him and yourself that you have a God in you who will never leave. Being aware or conscious of God’s eternal presence in your life, can change your life because you will always remember that there is someone greater in you than what you face. I am still training myself to be aware of this. As I walk, as I read something I find difficult: Just to remind myself, someone within me knows all things.

It is limitless what He can do for you. If you read Psalms 25: 12-13 in the Living Bible, it says, ‘Where is the man who fears the Lord? God will TEACH Him how to CHOOSE THE BEST. He shall live within God’s eternal circle of blessing, and his children shall inherit the earth.’ Who is the teacher now? John 16 records that it is the Holyspirit. This verse is staggering because it means, He can teach you not to settle for second best but only the best. Not to try things and see if it works out.  You will make best choices first. No regrets. He will teach it all to you. I don’t know about you, but I would willingly learn that…hahahaha

I would love to go on, but I will have to stop here. This was just the introduction to our Helper. There is so much to learn and I can not cram it all in one piece so we will continue this next week. I would urge you all though, to take time this week and go through John 14 and 16 and 1 Corinthians 2 and just let it sink into you. Let Him tell you about Himself.

Till next week then!! Have a great week. Make someone Happy!! :-)

The Key is in your hands: To open or not to!

I have come to realise that the greatest key you have to unravelling your identity in Christ is the Bible…it is, to your Christian life as food is to your body. I know, your saying you have heard this before..well am gonna say it again…Yes!! the Bible: that’s your greatest key. It holds the answers to EVERYTHING. It will clear confusions about ANYTHING, will make you to succeed at ALL THINGS, it will build you up, make you everything it talks about. It sounds so much like God, isn’t it? Well, it is His word and He has placed it above all things (Psalm 138:2).

Considering how important it is, I for one have been on the craziest ride with it. Even as I write this I write with a smile remembering it all. There were times when I just left it on the shelf or table without reading it for ages. I just preferred novels, or doing my own things. Other things seemed more exciting and more rewarding. If I read a novel for instance, I was entertained. If I studied, I knew it was helping me with my career. On the other hand, when I read the bible, I would see no immediate results. It became a routine, something I had to get out of the way in the morning and what an easy routine it was to break if something more exciting was happening. But now, when I reflect on my life, gosh I wish I had read it everyday, making sure I understand every word. It would have saved me so much heart ache, confusion, and just made me a better person.

It’s tempting to say that if God had wanted to or destined for it to be that way, then it would have happened. But that is not true. To every Christian God has given a wonderful life, but He will not force you to have it. He makes it so clear; it is probably right in your face! In fact, Proverbs 8:1-6, 17 says wisdom stands on a high hill calling out loudly to you, stating all she has to offer. She is not whispering so that you can say, ‘oh but I did not hear’. And further He has said that you will find Him when you seek Him with ALL YOUR HEART (Jeremiah 29:13).He is not going to play hide and seek: If you go after Him you will find Him. So He is there in His word, and He wants you to pick it up and really read it, not rush through it. To study and meditate it, for you own good. People often don’t want to seek God so hard because they feel they might miss out on life but boy, is that so wrong!! Genesis 15:1 says He is your abundant compensation, and the reward you get is exceedingly great. You are not going to miss anything, you will have much much more than you can think of (Ephesians 3:20).

Imagine, when you read the Bible, and keep the word, length of days and years of a life [worth living] and tranquillity [inward and outward and continuing through old age till death], these shall it add to you (Proverbs 3: 1-2(amp)) and health to all your flesh (Proverbs 4:20-23).This is not a metaphor meaning something else, it is what it is. As you read it, it makes the life you lead richer, fuller. You do not just live your life or survive it, you enjoy it. You see a flower and you say, ‘WOW!! Look what my father designed!! And if He designed that fragile flower surely He can handle fragility. I can be vulnerable and naïve with Him and He won’t hurt me or disregard my feelings.  He will help me handle my feelings to the glory of His name.’ As you read it, and meditate you will be laying claim on the health that is already yours in Christ Jesus. Understand that it is the word of God, as if God Himself was speaking to you. Do you think an encounter with Him will leave you the same? When God speaks, creation listens! Ask the winds that stopped at Jesus’ command (Mark 4:35-40) or the fish that had to rush from all directions into Simon’s net (Luke 5:4-8). Do you think your flesh won’t listen when u read His word?

Also His word is a lamp to your feet and a light for your path (Psalm 119:105). That means, as you read the word, your path of life will have light: You are not walking in darkness, in confusion. So for instance, while it will not tell you whether to go to town or stay at home expressly, it will enable you to see which route is best, as perhaps a torch does. God told Joshua this, that if he studied the law (which was the only equivalent to the Bible then), and meditated on it, he would make his own way prosperous, deal wisely and have good success (Joshua 1:8). The word would show him how to do all this. It will show you how to be a good student or employee, wife, mother. You do not have to worry whether you will be a grumpy mother or a nagging wife, or a bad boss, just read the word. It will make you into what it talks about. All those positives. Though at times it may seem as if you are not making progress, you ARE more than you know: you are being transformed into His likeness from one level of glory to another(2 Corinthians 3:18).

Not only this, the word corrects you (2 Timothy 3:16,17)! We live in a world that people would rather flatter you than tell you the truth of what kind of a person you are so that either you continue to be better or change for the better. The word will not do this. It is honesty. If you are selfish, you will find out. If you are lazy, you will too. And not in a harsh way. God is amazing like that. He is velvet and steel. At times, it may be overwhelming that you have so much wrong but do not despair, as Joyce Meyer says, ‘you might not yet be where you are supposed to be but you are not where you used to be.’ Stick at it and you will be closer to it!!   And what is more beneficial is that it will tell you how to change and where the power to change is. Most times people want to change, but will-power by itself is never enough, if it was, addictions would be non-existent.

Also it transforms your thinking. You begin to see yourself the way God does and to discover the purpose He created you for. Your ‘I thinks’ begin to be ‘I knows’: Just as Paul wrote, but We KNOW, all things work together (Romans 8:28), as if it is common knowledge. Your insecurities begin to disappear. If you thought before that things were just getting from bad to worse, you begin to see that though you might not have all the answers, it will all work out and that your path is a path of glory, getting brighter and brighter with each day (Proverbs 4:18). Not only this, but your faith grows, you believe that it will happen as it is in His word because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).

I could go on telling you the benefits of Bible reading but I will stop here. It is a magnificent treasure and so SO much is packed into it, all for your good. But God will not force you to read it, even though it is near you. He has laid a table for you full of blessings, and it is your choice to eat and feast. At the same time satan , through daily pressures and busy routines of this world  that distract you from the word has laid out his. If you are not reading the word, do not think that you are not feeding on something else. Your teachers will become what you watch, what you listen to and what you see. And we all know the state of the world right now…you will begin to believe things you should not believe in, accept lies  or principles you do not function on as a Christian, because remember as a Christian, God has not given you a normal life, He has given you everything that pertains to this life( 2 Peter 1:3). You just have to tap into it.

And when you read it, don’t do it so fast that you miss points. Read it slowly, prayerfully, expectantly, meditating upon it, because if you do not understand it, the devil comes to steal it away. It should sink into you and this can only be done by reading it again and again so that it takes root other wise again it will die. Don’t let things during the day rob you of time to sit and read His word, don’t let circumstances choke your spiritual life but be good ground and let the word dwell richly in you and produce fruit (Matthew 13:18-23; Colossians 3:16).
Have a lovely week!!

Another Cinderella Story....?

Since this is my first blog, I think it is appropriate that I explain the blog name….
I don’t think at the time I gave my life to Jesus I knew how big that decision was or that it would be the best decision I ever made in my life.  I was 8 years old, when at a huge gathering held by Reinhard Bonnke , I heard the gospel, believed and said, “Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and be Lord of my life. I believe you came and died for me.” I said this and felt no change in me, in the weeks to come. I did have an awareness at times that something was different, but I had expected to FEEL it as some do and was quite disappointed when nothing happened. I prayed, I read the Bible, I went to church and I tried to be good.…hehehe…but I did not know at this time what exactly had happened. Jesus was lord of my life…yeah, so??
It was later in my life that I came across 2 Corinthians 5:17 -“Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” This amazed me!! I was a new person, according to the Bible,  I was a child of God and because He is King, a Princess. Hahaha..it was almost laughable, The King of Kings was my dad!! This was new territory. I did not know what it meant to be a princess. I did not know what powers and responsibilities I now had. I knew nothing.
Since then I have discovered some interesting scenarios in which a princess can find herself:
A princess who for some reason lives in a foreign land and has never discovered her roots may live as a peasant for the rest of her life because she was never told of her heritage.
If she is told and then goes to live in this new world, this castle, she may still ACT as a peasant if she is unaware of the rights, powers and privileges that come with her title.
But even if she knows them, a princess might be ineffective in her reign if she does not use what is in her hand to impact the world.
Jesus’ death on the cross, has given to everyone, man or woman in Him, a life of royalty, His own very life. Ephesians 2: 5 -6 says that we died with Christ and we were made alive together with Him, and when Christ was raised up, we were raised together with Him and made to sit together in heavenly in places. This is your position once you have believed and accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and it is a position that comes with responsibilities, powers, rights and privileges. Jesus suffered so that you do not suffer; He was rejected so that you would not be. And the most amazing thing is it that God did it all, just because He loves you. The problem is that one may be unaware, as I was for a long time, that the Lordship of Jesus over her life, made her a princess and hence continue to live on as a peasant.
Similarly, you may know you are saved, that you are a princess but not know what it means. That is, not know or understand your rights, powers or privileges.  For instance, what does it mean to you when the Bible says, ‘the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want’?  Though often said, only few people acknowledge Him as that; as their main provider. Many will look at their degree as a way to make it in this world, others at money, and others at jobs. The life as princess however, is beyond that. It is a knowing that there is not anything in this life that you can want that is not found in Jesus.
Still more, one may know all this but for some reason not use what is in her hands to impact the world. So you know, that as a christian lady, the spirit that you have is one not of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind ( 2 Tim 1:7) and yet when you speak, your language is full of fear: ‘ I can not do this. I am afraid.’ Instead of embracing the boldness that is already in you and saying I can do this, not that I am sufficient by myself but I do it through Christ who infuses inner strength into me. I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency-Philippians 4:13(amp)….
But whatever the level you might find yourself, you can become better. From good to better; from better to best; from best to best of the best and while English limits the word of the next stage up (because, I think its bestest of the bestest...lol..) God’s vocabulary is limitless.
This is much better than the Cinderella story...right? You are not just dressing up, you ARE. You will not become your old self again at midnight... those days are gone. You made a covenant with God, en He sticks to His word. This is not a story of you looking all beautiful for a trip to the palace, fixin yourself up..This is one of the Prince knocking on your door, a door of someone just ordinary, and inviting you to the Castle to reign with Him. He will fix you up....It almost seems impossible but it is so True.
On this blog, I aim to just glorify God. It is my prayer that a lot of ladies will join me in this. I will share the word of God and lessons the Lord has taught me so far. There are people in my life who inspire me and who have impacted my life greatly…I will tell of their stories so that you too are inspired. God has given us all we need to be a generation of ladies who know who they are and what powers they have to impact the world. So lets do dis!!
